Well, after building a few of these Klon Centaur clone boutique pedals, I can honestly state, that it is a rather rewarding job. I am absolutely thrilled, that my customers like my finished and completely assembled Klon Centaur clones.

Just finished an MXR sized Klon Centaur clone in a powder coated red metallic starlight finish, which just looks totally way cool. Used a custom turquoise blue LED which the local customer specified, between the many colors which I had available.

It is your Klon clone, and you can have it built the way you like it. Just ask, and I will try my best to make your dream Klon Centaur clone come true. My price is generally around $200 in either Canadian or USA currency. Custom Shop features will add to the base cost, but it is well worth the extra $$$.

I now think that it is much wiser to build them in a slightly larger enclosure, such as the Hammond 1590BB or NSC brand 1590BB, as the NSC is lower cost, and has an excellent quality that rivals the original. The NSC brand seems softer around the edges.

I have sold many Klon Centaur clone circuit boards and later I have sold many more Klon Centaur clone kits. However, I now wish to concentrate more on building Klon Centaur clones as fully assembled, and finished boutique pedals.

I will also be offering "Custom Shop" models with much higher quality features, and these will be detailed at my website http://www.buildyourowntone.com

Many new developments coming down the pipeline, including a newer layout Klon Centaur clone circuit board, that should make it easier for all of us to work with.

I will still sell Klon Centaur clone circuit boards, Klon Centaur clone kits, and of course now the ever growing in popularity Klon Centaur clone boutique pedal.

I will post high quality audio & regular quality videos soon, at my website and on youtube. My channel(s) are buildyourowntone, and churchoftone.

I will have a Vancouver, Canada professional guitar player and recording artist/ producer demonstrate the Klon Centaur clone through a Soldano SLO with a very nice Gibson guitar equipped with Lindy Fralin PU's. This should be real fun.

Keep on the lookout for my post with regard to when these videos will be released.

Cheers,
Raymond Goncalves

1st Klon Centaur clone build finally completed

I finally built my 1st Klon Centaur clone, sans enclosure, which I will later drill and finish. To say the least, I am absolutely thrilled with this neat boutique pedal known as a Klon Centaur, of course I do not have an original, just a clone, but what a clone!

It plain rocks hard! I find it to be quite versatile to my ears and taste. I sell Klon Centaur clone circuit boards, Klon clone electronic kits including Klon Centaur clone circuit board. I do this with a website, yet I myself, have never completed a Klon Centaur clone. Seems rather silly, considering I should have built one myself long ago. However, for many reasons I never completed my own circuit and project build.
No matter, I am very happy with the results I have obtained. Many of my customers are happy also, and some of them are devoted, loyal repeat customers, which is fine with me and great for my business.

I hope to offer many more exciting clone boutique pedal kits and assembled clone boutique pedals in the near future. I have already got some fine products in mind.

To be sure, many people do not like this concept of selling boutique pedal kits, and assembled clone boutique pedals, but it is legal, and that is all that matters to me. I do not need or seek approval from anybody to do this. We live in a great country and a great continent, and I am grateful that I can make my own decisions to choose to clone any boutique pedal that I fancy. Nope, do not need any permission from anybody, nor do I care for others opinions on the matter.

I do not wade into silly, useless, time wasting, digressing discussion on forums, whether they are DIY guitar effects forums or cork sniffer guitar effects forums on this totally tired and long dead issue of boutique pedal cloning. I have been tracing circuits longer than before this boutique pedal craze took off, and I never asked permission then to reverse-engineer electronic products, and I certainly do not need permission to reverse-engineer or trace circuits today, or tomorrow.

If you do not agree with this, than that is fine, and I do not give a hoot.

Just build or buy my clone boutique pedal products, and enjoy your life.

Cheers,
